BBQs & Firepits
- • BBQs are permitted but must be securely situated off the ground (minimum 12 inches / 1 ft).
- • Firepits are permitted but ONLY firepits hired from Meadow View Campsite.
- • BBQs and firepits are undertaken at the camper's own risk.
- • Meadow View reserves the right to disallow BBQs and firepits in certain circumstances (drought, heatwaves, high winds, etc.) — sometimes at short notice.
BBQs and firepits are dangerous — they can cause serious injury or death. The following rules MUST be obeyed:
- • Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. They must not be left unattended.
- • They must be situated away from overhanging trees, vehicles, camping accommodation or anything that could catch fire.
- • Before lighting, take wind direction into consideration so other campers are not inconvenienced or placed at risk.
- • Always keep open flames under control.
- • You must ensure your fire is extinguished before leaving it unattended.
- • Do not use accelerants or flammable liquids.
- • Put BBQ coals / ash in the metal bins provided — not in the plastic bins.
Please notify a member of staff if you have any issues.
